WHAT ARE THE JUDGING RULES AND GUIDELINES?

There are a limited amount of ‘chairs’ due to the amount of requests. Judging is determined by the number of entries and number of judging requests by the request timeframes. Judging requests are open now but judging won’t begin until after the deadline.

WHO ARE THE JUDGES?

Professionals of Publishing, Multi-Media, Graphics, Educational fields, Executives, etc.  Print publishers can also judge and request formats such as pdf’s or links to websites that display eBooks, for example.

HOW CAN I SIGN UP AS A JUDGE?

Use the form to sign up, agree to the Judging Rules, and when we have gathered all the files after the main contest deadline, you will be notified.

CAN I RETURN AND BE A JUDGE AGAIN?

Yes. As we anticipate a changing panel of judges, you may still participate again as long as you have adhered to the Judging rules.

HOW MANY EBOOKS WILL I RECEIVE?

It will vary depending on submissions and judges.

ARE NAMES OF JUDGES AVAILABLE?

No. As a courtesy, we generally keep names private to keep the competition objective.

See the general guidelines in the Agreement Box. If you are interested to be a judge, you can provide your information, submit the form, and we will reply with more details if you are selected. We will send you more details when you are accepted.

    AGREEMENT FOR JUDGES: CHILDREN’S EBOOK AWARDS (CEBA)
    By reviewing and judging this material you agree to the following terms, that those terms isn't giving you permission to copy, reproduce or distribute this material. The material is confidential and only for your review for this contest.
    —I agree to receive electronic files for the purpose of reviewing and judging according to the guidelines and scoring sheet.
    —I agree to submit the score sheets by the Judging Deadline.  If I do not submit your return score sheets before deadline, I will be permanently disqualified from CEBA and can no longer participate in and receive electronic files from CEBA in the future.
    —I agree I will not copy, share, distribute or sell the obtained electronic files and abide by all legal copyright and intellectual property laws.
    —I agree all material presented are confidential and should not and will not be used for personal and/or professional purposes outside of judging the material.
    —I agree that I am either a publisher, a professional member of the publishing industry, author or author of children’s books, graphic artist, game developer, eBook developer, app developer, working in electronic media, or professional related to these fields.
    -- I agree I am Judging eBooks for CEBA on a voluntary basis and will not be compensated.

    JUDGING FAQ's:
    CEBA JUDGING  WHAT ARE THE JUDGING RULES AND GUIDELINES? There are a limited amount of ‘chairs’ due to the amount of requests. Judging is determined by the number of entries and number of judging requests by the request timeframes. Judging requests are open after Submissions have closed. CEBA will send judges Submissions based on choice of age groups, file preferences, etc. Judging will have a 2 month period to score the iBooks. Judges must score all received files. WHO ARE THE JUDGES? A Call For Judges enables judging from those professionals of Publishing, Multi-Media, Graphics, Educational fields, Executives, etc.  Print publishers can also judge and request formats such as pdf's or links to websites that display eBooks, for example. HOW CAN I SIGN UP AS A JUDGE? Use the form below to sign up, agree to the Judging Rules, and when we have gathered all the files after the main contest deadline, you will be notified. We may send you the electronic files via links, such as yousendit.com, sendspace.com, WeTransfer.com, Dropbox, etc.  CAN I RETURN AND BE A JUDGE AGAIN? Yes. As we anticipate a changing panel of judges, you may still participate again as long as you have adhered to the Judging rules.  HOW DO I JUDGE A CHILDREN’S EBOOK? We provide score sheets when you apply. When you sign up, provide your email address and when we process your request, a Score Sheet will be sent along with a batch of eBook files for your review. You may select among age groupings, select file format preference, and we will send you a variety of eBooks from a broad range of categories. HOW MANY EBOOKS WILL I RECEIVE? It will vary depending on submissions and judges. Distribution will be as equal as possible and it will also depend on the screening we initially do to check formats, content, and eligibility of a submission. DO JUDGES KEEP THE EBOOKS? Yes. The Judges keep the eBook files they have reviewed. Due to the nature of eBooks, electronic files are not returned. Judges agree not to distribute or sell the eBooks, and to only review for the Judging process. ARE NAMES OF JUDGES AVAILABLE?
